Welcome to the Edge Monday Badminton Club. We are a volunteer-run not-for-profit badminton club that is affiliated with Badminton England.
We are open to adult players and to youth players aged between 16 and 17 years old. We mostly play doubles games and use plastic shuttlecocks, and our standard of play is somewhere between that of an experienced social player and a strong intermediate player.
Club Nights
Our Club Sessions are held on Monday evenings between 8 pm and 10 pm at The Edge Leisure Centre in Haslemere. We normally book between 4 and 6 courts and have between 16 and 30 players who attend each session. We use a traditional pegboard to help organise a variety of doubles games amongst all players who attend.
We use the Spond App to communicate with our members and to share details of forthcoming club sessions and events, so please visit the Apple Store or Google Play Store to download the Spond App, so that we can stay in touch. Fees
We do not charge an annual Club Membership Fee, but instead we currently charge a Session Fee of £6 per session that is payable in advance. The first session is free of charge, so you can try us as a "taster" to see if you like it.
Standard of Play
We try to maintain a reasonable standard of play across all games to help ensure the enjoyment of all players, so all members are expected to be able to demonstrate a standard of play that is consistent with that of an experienced Social Player.
Insurance
We are affiliated with Badminton England, which is the national governing body for the sport of badminton in England. The Club and its committee members have public liability insurance.
All members of the Club also have public liability insurance for the first 6 Club Sessions that they attend (including the first free of charge session), but thereafter members will not be covered. So, if you wish to have cover, you will need to join Badminton England yourself and obtain your own insurance cover.
